tahini ‘caramel’ sauce that can be drizzled over pretty much anything – and the best thing is it only takes one minute to make!
Alright, let me begin by just saying these things:
- This sauce is literally the easiest thing to make. Ever.
- It is delicious.
- It takes only 1 minute (or less!) to make.
- Peanut butter is a main ingredient.
- Wait, there are only 3 ingredients!
- You can definitely eat this off the spoon as is. Because it is so delicious. Well, I think it is anyway.
I came across this recipe/idea one day when I was making some of my favourite biscuits. This ‘sauce’ is actually the base of those biscuits and is only made with three ingredients – tahini, peanut butter and maple syrup. Yum!
This tahini ‘caramel’ sauce goes great spread on toast, drizzled over ice cream or yoghurt or eaten off the spoon. The tahini gives it an earthy almost smoky note while the combination of peanut butter and maple syrup helps to give it that caramel-y taste. I wouldn’t say a straight caramel taste but some kind of delicious smoky, nutty version of caramel.
Tahini Caramel Sauce
Super simple sauce using only three ingredients – spread it on toast, put it on your ice cream or just eat it straight off the spoon!
Stir all the ingredients together until well combined and mixture is a smooth, silky texture.
Store in a glass jar or eat straight away.
Use crunchy peanut butter to add some texture to the sauce.
Play around with the amounts of each ingredient to get the right amount of sweetness, peanut buttery goodness, etc that is desired. I prefer a bit more peanut butter than tahini generally.
I’m in love with this sauce now. I use it to make biscuits and use it on ice cream (as pictured above) and spread on toast and as a dip for apple pieces! So yum.
As an aside, mixing this sauce with raspberries gives you instant peanut butter and jelly/jam flavours! It’s sooooo good people! Try it!
Thank you for stopping by. If you end up trying this sauce out let me know, I’d like some feedback on whether or not this is actually delicious and I’m not just someone with weird tastebuds…..haha!
Until next time lovelies!
